Do Ductless Heat Pumps Work In Cold Climates?
So many people ask us, does a ductless heat pump work in a cold climate? And the answer is, yes, it does. Ductless technology has advanced significantly over the last couple of years. And especially the heat pump technology, you know, you often hear, well, “My, you know, my grandpa, my grandma, or my mom and dad used to have a heat pump and, you know, it never worked….” But today’s heat pumps, and ductless heat, they’re not even the same thing, not even in the same family. I mean, the new ductless systems and the new heat pumps are absolutely phenomenal. So the hyper heat through Mitsubishi heats down to minus 13 degrees outside and has a hundred percent capacity down to minus of degrees Fahrenheit on select models. So a really, really good, option for getting that heat out of that air.*
Even in those coldest of temperatures, we’ve installed multiple full homes in the mountains, which are going strictly ductless with the Mitsubishi Hyper Heat System. And they’ve had no issues whatsoever. You know, where they’re getting quite a few feet of snow every year, and everything like that. And it’s getting into the, the very cold freezing temperatures and, and they they’re so happy with going with the Mitsubishi Hyper Heat Model Mini Split. So not to mention the amount of money that we’ve saved them in utilities, by switching to the hyper heat and no longer using that radiant electric expensive heat, or, you know, maybe they’re, they’re heating with, a fireplace or wood stove. And, you know, in the middle of winter, maybe they don’t want to have to go out and get the firewood. And so now they can go with this year round comfort with the hyper heat, not to mention now they have cooling. So it’s really, really a great thing. So this new technology makes it a warm, comfortable heat coming out of those the ductless units, which we’re, we’re really excited to, to even be offering, so yeah, take us up on a free consultation. You know, if you live out in the mountains, let us know. We’ll, we’ll make it out there and evaluate your home and find out if a Ductless Heat Pump is going to be right for you.
* Hyper Heat is a new home heating system designed by Mitsubishi. Hyper Heat is a heat pump system, but it adds an exclusive Inverter technology that allows it to maintain its efficiency when temperatures drop, all the way down to -13 degrees Fahrenheit.
