The Challenge: Obtaining More Comfort with Higher Efficiency Heating and Cooling

There were a few challenges that Eric wanted solutions for:

Challenge 1: Create a comfortable Master Bedroom, that he could control the temperature in, separate from the rest of the home.
Challenge 2: Get a high-efficiency furnace and make it a Dual Fuel system so that he could reduce his natural gas consumption.
Challenge 3: Obtain a much more efficient air conditioner that had inverter technology, instead of his existing single stage system that is either 100% on or 100% off.

The Solution: A Combination of Ductless, a High-Efficiency Furnace and an Inverter Driven Mitsubishi Heat Pump

Solution 1: We installed a wall mount ductless head in the basement, so the home owner was able to keep the bedroom at the most comfortable temperature for him while he was sleeping in there. It has it’s own controller, is quiet, and very energy efficient.
Solution 2: We replaced the 80% furnace with a 97% S9V2 Furnace, so when the system was running in furnace mode, it would be 17% (or more efficient) than previously. We also installed a heat pump, so instead of creating the heat with the gas of the furnace, we are just moving the heat from outside to inside, all the way down to -13F outside.
Solution 3: By replacing the old 10 SEER Air conditioner with a High Efficiency Inverter Driven Mitsubishi Heat Pump, we made the unit now heat and cool, much more efficient than the old air conditioner could.

The Benefits: Lower Utility Bills and Greater Comfort

He is now much more comfortable throughout his whole home, has two sources of heat, and will save much more money on his energy bills year round!

Cost/Benefit Analysis: Energy Cost Savings Over the Long Term AND Comfort!

By switching to this higher end system, the customer will save much more throughout the year in utilities, but maybe even more than that, he finally has a comfortable home!

I was very impressed with Peppy and their technician Kevin today.Kevin arrived quickly when we requested service, he was extremely polite and got immediately to work.We thought our a/c system needed more refrigerant because it wasn't cooling our home.Kevin checked the system and identified that the exterior unit was clogged and was not able to exhaust the heat from inside.He took the unit apart, cleaned it and rechecked it. It immediately started cooling more efficiently. After he reassembled the unit, he explained that everything was in good shape and no Freon or repairs were needed.We had a less-honest company check our system a few years ago. They told us the entire system needed to be replaced (for thousands of $$). Well last year in October my furnace finally gave out, I had hired another contractor who was stringing me along for 3 months, it's now December and I'M FREEZING!!! Our first experience with Peppy was in 2018, our HVAC system was over 20 years old and I wanted to have it inspected. Brett came out and checked the system, he said that it was old but that it was working as efficiently as it could. He gave us an estimate with several options for replacement, they seemed very reasonable. He also took the time to fully explain the benefits of every option that he was offering so we were able to make an informed decision. With his encouragement we decided to run our system a little longer and ended up just having him clean our ducting system which he did, it took him all day, but he did an excellent job and charged what I thought was a very fair price.
