The Challenge: Replacing Window AC Units, Electric Baseboard and Old Ductless Mini Split

Removing the window ac units that did not work very well and were very noisy for the guests. Also the electric baseboard heat is expensive to operate and did not provide a great heating solution. For the main house the removal of the old ductless mini split that had had some issues (not Mitsubishi) and getting something much more reliable.

The Solution: A Zoned Mitsubishi Hyper-heat (H2i®) Ductless System

Designing a 4 outdoor ductless mini split system and installing low-temperature Hyper-heat (H2i^®) Mitsubishi outdoor units that can heat all the way down to -13F. We were able to remove the electric baseboard heaters and the window ac units and the Hyper-heat (H2i) system can keep the area comfortable year round! Also, by replacing the old non-Mitsubishi ductless system that had had issues in the past, with a Mitsubishi Hyper-heat (H2i), the customer received a top of the line ductless heat pump with a 12 year parts and 12 year labor warranty!

Cost/Benefit Analysis: Energy Cost Savings Over the Long Term

The cost of the ductless mini split does have a higher upfront cost then keeping the baseboard electric heater and the window ac unit, obviously, but the long term energy savings, plus the tax credit, and of course the comfort for the Airbnb guests, made this project well worth it!

I was very impressed with Peppy and their technician Kevin today.Kevin arrived quickly when we requested service, he was extremely polite and got immediately to work.We thought our a/c system needed more refrigerant because it wasn't cooling our home.Kevin checked the system and identified that the exterior unit was clogged and was not able to exhaust the heat from inside.He took the unit apart, cleaned it and rechecked it. It immediately started cooling more efficiently. After he reassembled the unit, he explained that everything was in good shape and no Freon or repairs were needed.We had a less-honest company check our system a few years ago. They told us the entire system needed to be replaced (for thousands of $$). When pressed, they added Freon (a few hundred $$) and the unit started cooling again.I appreciate how Kevin with Peppy told us honestly what the issue was, and didn't try to upsell or pretend something else was going on.We will definitely call Peppy next time we need a/c service.Thank you!

Well last year in October my furnace finally gave out, I had hired another contractor who was stringing me along for 3 months, it's now December and I'M FREEZING!!! I just spent the last two days with the Peppy Crew (Kevin, Luke, Josh, and Connor) as they tore all of the old, 1974 ductwork out of my attic and replaced it along with a new Trane furnace and outdoor AC unit. Our first experience with Peppy was in 2018, our HVAC system was over 20 years old and I wanted to have it inspected. Brett came out and checked the system, he said that it was old but that it was working as efficiently as it could. He gave us an estimate with several options for replacement, they seemed very reasonable. He also took the time to fully explain the benefits of every option that he was offering so we were able to make an informed decision. With his encouragement we decided to run our system a little longer and ended up just having him clean our ducting system which he did, it took him all day, but he did an excellent job and charged what I thought was a very fair price. In 2020 we decided it was time to install a more efficient system and after having such a positive experience with Brett in the past we decided to have Peppy install a new home HVAC system, it has performed flawlessly since then.
